Last to last Sunday I hit legs with a guy whom I’ll describe in a moment. I set a new squat personal record (PR) for 100 kg for 5 reps. That’s not a joke at 16. I commit in this blog that before the day I turn 17, my squat PR will be 140 kg minimum.

Coming to that guy. He is in his early 30’s with a beard and lots of muscle. He was a typical masculine guy with throwing heavy weights around and screaming in the gym. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing though. Most probably he was politically influenced too because he wore 2 gold chains to the gym.

When I was about to hit a 100 kgs, he looked me in the eye and told me that I’m a man and a man does difficult things which he knows can fail but he does it regardless. He hit me hard at the back and screamed “yeah buddy”. As I was repping the 100 kgs, the whole gym gathered and looked at me.

The guy kept on screaming “f*ck it baby” and I just went for 4 reps.

That guy is my idol of masculinity. He was aggressive, non-apologetically himself and helped me with my squat pr. I wish to train with him more and set new heights for my lifts.

Now, people think that just because I lift heavy weights and won’t apologize for having a hell high testosterone, I’m rude to other people.

Every staff at my gym loves me. I shake hands with the cleaners everyday and they have a smile everytime they see me.

Especially, the female staff because I’m very respectful towards them and I say “thank you” or “please” for everything with a smile.

That’s what masculinity is. Doing what you are supposed to do and do difficult things but at the same time respect everyone who respects you.

Keep Growing.
